Ready To Rumble Revolution: Latest Update With Character Profiles And New Video!

Click on the boxing glove and prepare to get punched with an info overload!

Ready-2-Rumble-Revolutiom_Wii_BOX-tempboxart_160w The hilarious Ready 2 Rumble franchise flexes its muscles for its major, star-studded return to the ring. Bringing the franchise to Wii for the first time, the game retains all the knockout features of best-sellers Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Round 1 and Round 2, while delivering a knockout punch of style and attitude. Tailored to take advantage of the motion-controlled realism of Wii, Ready 2 Rumble Revolution makes landing a punch more fun than ever. Virtual heavyweights can fight from the backstreet gym all the way to the big Las Vegas showdown with vivid new visuals bringing the five spectacular ring environments to life. The arcade experience is made even better thanks to advanced Artificial Intelligence allowing more strategic fights.

Before Electronic Arts brought boxing to brutal life in Fight Night Round 3, cartoonishly arcade-style boxing games were all the rage. While Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! is a classic example of this type of game, it was Ready 2 Rumble that changed the rules in 1999, bringing an extra dimension to the genre that allowed players to circle their opponents, sticking and moving their way to victory. Now, the over-the-top characters and moves that made the game a hit on the Dreamcast are coming to the Wii with Ready To Rumble Revolution.
While we're all for fun boxing action, games like these are only as good as their characters, so we figured now would be a good time to start taking a look at the new game's fighters. We don't know if Afro Thunder or Boris The Bear will be in the game, but it looks like these new guys will pack quite a punch.
The Impersonator
Height: 6'1
Weight: 165 lbs
Reach: 75 inches
Chest/Normal: 44 inches
Chest/Expanded: 48 inches
Waist: 33 inches
Biceps: 16 inches
Neck: 18 inches
Wrist: 7.5 inches
Fist: 13 inches
As you might be able to tell from the video, The Impersonator has made a career of pretending to be a certain famous singer who died on a toilet. He brings his kingly moves into the ring, taunting his foes with The Hip Thruster or The Shimmy before finishing them off with The Elvis Air Guitar, in which he "brings the rock to the rumble". Don't be cruel, Impersonator!

Dragon Chew
Height: 5'8
Weight: 140 lbs
Reach: 73 inches
Chest/Normal: 42 inches
Chest/Expanded: 45 inches
Waist: 33 inches
Biceps: 13 inches
Neck: 17 inches
Wrist: 6.5 inches
Fist: 12.5 inches
Like Fei Long and Liu Kang before him, Dragon Chew is a Bruce Lee clone, although we don't remember the lithe Jeet Kune Do creator sporting a massive dragon tattoo on his arm. Still, Chew borrows some of his taunts from the master, including The Mocking Mantis Keep Your Nose Clean, in which he wipes his nose with the back of his glove (don't worry, it's much cooler than it sounds). Once he's got his opponents where he wants them, he'll unleash Dragon Thunder Storm on them, battering them with a barrage of kung-fu fury.
We hope you enjoyed this early look at two of the new characters in Ready to Rumble Revolution. We'll be bringing you more info soon.
