James MacArthur Of Original Hawaii Five-O Dies At 72

Hawaii Five-OImage via WikipediaThis is a bad month for classic TV stars.  Besides Tom Bosley (Happy Days) and Barbara Billingsley (Leave It To Beaver), now we learn that James MacArthur of the original Hawaii Five-O has died.  For 11 seasons MacArthur portrayed Det. Danny Williams on the CBS hit, which has been remade into a new series this year.
The phrase "Book 'em Danno!" has become one of the most popular lines in TV history and is even used as a tribute in the new series.
MacArthur, incidentally, was the son of actress Helen Hayes, considered the Queen of the Broadway theater and most memorable as the old lady in the movie "Airport."
