Trick R' Treat Commences On Halloween.

Everyone knows what 'trick r' treat' is all about, don't they?  Well, in this case it's not going door to door and begging for candy.  Rather, it's a new horror movie that will be in your friendly ghostly theater on October 31, 2008.  In other words on Halloween.

One interesting thing to note about this film is that it will have been sitting on the shelf for over a year by the time it is released.   Produced by Bryan Singer and written and directed by Michael Dougherty ("Superman Returns," "X2: X-Men United"),  "Trick 'r Treat" is four interwoven stories that take place on Halloween with such characters as a staid high school principal who is a Halloween serial killer, a college-age virgin seeking that special guy, a woman who hates dressing up for Halloween and whose husband is obsession with the holiday and a group of young teens who pull a cruel prank.

Another interesting thing about this film is that one of the actresses in it is none other than Anna Paquin, currently starring in the new HBO vampire series "True Blood".

I was cruising through a lot of articles on the Internet to try and find out why this film has been held up.   Mainly, what I found out was that Warner Brothers, for whatever reason have been the reason for this films holdup.  It has been scheduled to be release a couple of other times besides last October.  And, according to most of the articles I have read, it will only be in a couple of theaters and will then be a straight to video release.  There is quite a bit of interest floating around for this movie across the blogosphere for those who like horror movies, and especially for those who follow Bryan Singer.  We'll all just have to wait and see for ourselves, but in the meantime, here's the trailer for it.  And interestingly, it looks like a chiller diller.
