Second Cast Member For "Hawaii Five-O" Announced

"Moonlight" star Alex O'Loughlin has been chosen as the new Detective Steve McGarrett for the CBS remake of the popular television series "Hawaii Five-O.  Taking over the part that was originally portrayed by Jack Lord, his role on the show is that of the head of the Hawaii State Police.

O'Loughlin will join "Lost" co-star Daniel Dae Kim, who was announced earlier this week to have been cast as Detective Chin Ho Kelly.   Alex appeared earlier this year in the CBS flop "Three Rivers", a show which I actually liked.

Developing the pilot are Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci, the co-creators of "Fringe" as well as Peter Lenkov, who is an executive producer for CSI: NY.

No word yet on who will play the part performed in the original by James MacArthur.  Can't think of his name, but I do remember the phrase, "Book him, Danno".

If you have a taste for the original series, you can order them from Amazon by clicking below.
