I found this fascinating quote today:
From 1976 until 1980 I was in the United States Navy. I'm not tooting my own trumpet. That's just the way it was. I wasn't there to protect our nation, but if duty required it (and during those years, it didn't) I would have done whatever I could to protect our country. The four years I spent serving in the military, with everything that happened, could probably make a hilarious book. Yet, most of the time certainly contained no hilarity or even a touch of drama.
