Catch Up On "Lost" Before The Final Season Starts.

key_art_lost

Don't be shocked when I admit to you that I have never watched a single episode of "Lost" which will begin it's sixth and final season on February 2.  Knowing that it was a serialized show, and missing the beginning of it, I never wanted to start watching it and then have to guess what had happened in the past.  Also, I never bought any of the seasons on DVD because I don't like spending that much money on something that I may or may not like.

Well, now all of that has been resolved thanks to ABC and Hulu.Com. (ABC is one of the investors of Hulu).  They have now posted 101 episodes of the first five seasons online.  So, if like me you have never watched them, or, if you missed an episode or two or even an entire season, now is your chance to catch up on whatever you may have missed before what everyone is promising to be the last and best season of ABC's hit series.

The video I'm posting here is of course the very first episode, since for me, once I begin watching it is where I will have to start.  It is part one of the pilot episode and first aired on September 22, 2004.  You can go to this ABC page to get a quick 8 minute and 15 second recap of the entire series.  That will keep you from having to watch the 100+ episodes to catch yourself up.   You'll find the video below right after the list of actors.

ABC's LOST explores the destiny of the passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 who crashed on an island. The survivors not only have to rely on each other, but also cope with the secrets the mysterious island holds. Some become friends, others enemies and some stories remain to be told. There's much more than meets the eye, as it becomes apparent that everyone is somehow connected and that everyone has a purpose.

About season five, ABC has this posted on their web site:

The latest season of LOST definitely ended with a bang. Like, literally. A nuclear bang. That kaboom sets the stage for the final season, and we're counting the days for the Premiere Event Tuesday February 2nd 8/7c.

The show has always been teasing us with mysteries, but we do know some things. The island is always moving and it contains a pocket of powerful electromagnetic energy. That energy caused Oceanic 815 to crash. Fate, or maybe Jacob, seems to have brought all the passengers together. But then they all got separated, either by getting rescued from the island or by traveling through time or maybe it was a little of both. And now Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox) is rallying the survivors to rewrite their fates by preventing their plane from crashing in the first place. Oh, and we also know that a lot of you prefer Sawyer (Josh Holloway) to wear only his trademark sneer rather than a shirt.

Some of you were also probably thinking that LOST exec producers/masterminds Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were making everything up as they went along. But after five seasons, everything is coming together into a grand master plan. And since Season 6 is the final season, start preparing for your mind to be blown because they're gonna have to tie up all those loose ends and pay things off with some answers. Pretty monumental, right? Or, to quote Hurley (Jorge Garcia),"Duuuude."
