Spiderman Director Sam Raimi Returns To Horror Genre With "Drag Me To Hell".

Sam Raimi, director of all three Spiderman films returns to the genre he is best known for with "Drag Me To Hell". Raimi's claim to fame began with the cult classic "The Evil Dead". This film deals with the tale of a young woman's desperate quest to break an evil curse.

Trailer Addict gives this description of the movies plot:

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home.

In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?

The trailer shows it to be a good old fashioned horror story that slowly draws you in and then bashes you on the head. It stars Alison Lohman and David Paymer and will be released on May 29, 2009.

The Warren Report : 1964 CBS TV News Special (1964)

This is a historical documentary that I found at Internet Archives. With Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather, this is a look at the Warren Report almost a year after the Kennedy Assassination. Riveting for anyone who lived during that time and for anyone interested in that fateful day in Dallas in 1963 when our President was shot.

Classic Television "Hey Mulligan!" starring Mickey Rooney

I had no idea until I found this video at InternetArchives that Mickey Rooney starred in a TV show called "Hey Mulligan". It turns out that the show, It turns out that this show aired for 39 episodes during 1954 and 1955. And it turns out that he has had quite an extensive career not only in films, but television as well. The following information comes from Wikipedia:
Rooney made a successful transition to television and stage work. In 1961, he guest starred in the 13-week James Franciscus adventure-drama television series The Investigators on CBS. In 1963, he even entered The Twilight Zone, giving a one-man performance in the episode "The Last Night of a Jockey". In 1964, he launched a half-hour sitcom Mickey on ABC. The story line had "Mickey" operating a resort hotel in southern California. Son Tim Rooney appeared as Rooney's teenaged son on the program, and Emmaline Henry starred as Rooney's wife.
He won a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award for his role in 1981's Bill. Playing opposite Dennis Quaid, Rooney was a mentally challenged man attempting to live on his own after leaving an institution. He reprised his role in 1983's Bill: On His Own, earning an Emmy nomination for the role.[3]
Rooney did the voices for four Christmas TV animated/stop action specials: Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town (1970), The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974), Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July (1979), and A Miser Brothers' Christmas (2008)—always playing Santa Claus. In 1970, he was approached by television producer Norman Lear to consider taking on the role of Archie Bunker in the upcoming CBS series, All in the Family. Like Jackie Gleason before him, Mickey rejected the project. The role ultimately went to Carroll O'Connor.

So, enjoy the show and be sure to visit Internet Archives for thousands of films and TV shows that are part of the public domain.

"State Of Play" Is An Intriguing Thriller With Ben Affleck And Russell Crowe

This is the international trailer for State Of Play. Starring Ben Affleck and Russell Crowe, it is an intriguing thriller involving murder, politics, and sabotage.

The plot for the film, according to TrailerAddict.Com, is as follows:

The International Trailer for State of Play. The plot will be similar to that of the original six-hour program, retaining several main characters, but condensing and changing certain aspects to fit the two-hour format. The film is set in Washington, D.C. and tells of Stephen Collins (Affleck), a fast-rising United States Congressman with ambitions to become his party's presidential candidate. This goal is threatened after his mistress (a former research assistant) is found dead in suspicious circumstances, while right-wing opponents to Collins' campaign for social reform attempt to use the scandal to kill his political career. During a probe into a series of seemingly unrelated murders, Cal McCaffrey (Crowe), an investigative journalist and Collins' former campaign manager, finds himself tasked with solving the case, becoming romantically involved with the Congressman's estranged wife (Wright Penn) in the process.

Alias Smith And Jones - Great TV From The 70's. Watch The Pilot Episode Here.

key_art_alias_smith_and_jones Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry, two of the most wanted outlaws in the history of the West, are popular "with everyone except the railroads and the banks", since "in all the trains and banks they robbed, they never shot anyone". They are offered an amnesty on condition that they stay out of trouble for a year and that they don't tell anyone about it. With a view to keeping their noses clean they adopt the identities of Smith and Jones and use all of their ingenuity keeping out of the way of the law.

Alias Smith and  Jones was loosely based on the 1969 hit movie Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid.  The pilot was sold to the ABC network and a series was commissioned. The series was a big hit with the youth audience and Duel became subject matter for teen magazines, gaining a loyal following. When news of his sudden death by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound was reported on TV and radio on December 31st 1971, it came as a shock to his family and friends. Early suspicion of foul play soon gave way to evidence pointing to death by suicide with depression and serious alcohol problems seen as contributing factors.

Duel was replaced by Roger Davis.

Hulu.Com currently has thirty-six episodes of the show available.  Here is the pilot.  Enjoy!

Jonas Brothers: Hyped By The Media But Dissed By The Fans.

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos

When you read articles or see stories on entertainment shows about the Jonas Brothers, you are usually led to believe that they are the most popular boys group since the Beatles. If the box office returns for the Jonas Brothers movie are any indication however, I think the press is exaggerating quite a bit.

The second weekend at the box office for their concert film took a 78 percent nosedive from last weeks disappointing opening week and landed the film in ninth place, where it is only downhill from there.

Like many artists before them, they are evidently just prefabricated tools of Disney and other companies just out to suck as much money from them in as little time as they can before they spit them out and move on to the next bubblegum star or starlet of the day.

Too bad that most of these young people don't grasp onto the notion of how fleeting fame really is. Perhaps all those who tried to get into show business and never succeeded are really the lucky ones.

New Movie Trailers Include "Up", "Star Trek", "Wolverine", And More. Watch Them Here.

I have been a little slack in the last few weeks of keeping up with the latest trailers online.  Because of that, I've decided to go ahead and post several of them all in one shot.  So, with the assistance of Trailer Addict.Com who is providing the trailers and their descriptions, enjoy these new looks of films you may be anticipating.

From the Academy Award-nominated director Pete Docter, Disney-Pixar's Up invites you on a hilarious journey into a lost world, with the least likely duo on Earth. Up will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D in select theaters.

This is truly a go-anywhere non-linear open world. In fact, if you host a multiplayer game (even if you're playing solo), you'll begin near a dungeon with gates to various regions in the world, all with their quests intact, and almost all manageable thanks to enemies that scale to your character's level

When it comes to variety of environments the game never fails to impress, at various times running the gambit from forests, ice fields, deserts, and volcanic environments.

Thankfully Ascaron doesn't take these storyline rules too seriously, flouting them subtly to reassure gamers that playing Sacred 2isn't just an endurance test….Big games demand big choices, and for once you genuinely feel as though you're choosing to assail the five other races with whom you no longer wish to share the planet, rather than being goaded into epic battle.

[Sacred 2] has some quirkiness that steps outside the boundaries of trying to be immersive and instead focuses on having some fun. The game does not seem to take itself too seriously, and has enough elements to keep adventure fans happy.

I did get a chance to play the Xbox 360 version at Gen Con last summer. I came away with the impression that the controls were great.

The gameplay is really perfect for consoles....If they can manage to keep things moving fluidly and the multiplayer is as rich as it is on the PC, Sacred 2 could be one of the best multiplayer RPG experiences on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
