Although "The Avengers" began as a television series in 1961, most people remember it most for the episodes that ran on ABC from 1965-68. This was the episodes that had Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg portraying John Steed and Emma Peel.
Diana Rigg replaced Honor Blackman who played Dr. Cathy Gale, a self-assured, quick-witted anthropologist who was skilled in judo and had a passion for wearing leather clothes. Blackman is probably known most famously as Pussy Galore in the James Bond film "Goldfinger".
Hulu.Com has posted 12 episodes from season 5 of "The Avengers" online. This was the first season that was filmed in color. To get you started on your trip down memory lane, I have the first episode posted below. Great way to work your way up to the New Year, don't you think?
The episode is title "From Venus With Love". This episode first aired on January 11, 1967. Hulu's description of the episode:
Gazing at Venus too much, the astronomers aged so quickly that they died perfectly in front of their telescope. There is malice! But Steed and Emma Peel watch over the blue planet.

Diana Rigg was so hot. And you really need to change your link color. The red on green sucks. It is hard to read.
