The wonderfully talented Allison Iraheta, fourth place finisher on American Idol has signed a recording contract with 19 Recordings/Jive record label, who also signed season eight winner Kris Allen. Adam Lambert, the talented second place finisher, has signed with 19 Recordings/RCA record label. Third place finisher Danny (my wife is dead) Gokey is so far left out in the cold.
In a statement to RollingStone.Com, Iraheta said the following:
“I think I’m still in shock that this is happening, getting to record my first album and this whole awesome experience is a dream come true!,” Iraheta said in a statement."
Barry Weiss, Chairman & CEO, RCA/JIVE Label Group had this to say:
“Allison was an absolute stand-out this season. Her bluesy, powerful voice, spunky attitude, and edgy star power immediately captivated us and it didn’t matter where she ranked on Idol, we knew we wanted her to join our amazing crop of young talent at Jive.”
Personally, I think Gokey is headed for either a second rate independent label or will be pumping out Christian music. I never understood how he made it as far as he did. At least he didn't win the competition like Taylor Hicks, who next to Danny is probably the worst competitor to make it as far as they did.
The Golden Trailer Awards are presented and run by siblings, Evelyn Brady-Watters and Monica Brady. A panel of judges selected from top level directors, producers, actors, writers, executives, exhibitors, advertising creatives and critics views the trailers and votes on them. With comedians hosting and presenting, the awards are handed out at a live ceremony in May. The first Golden Trailer Awards ceremony was held on September 21, 1999 in New York City. The show is televised and was carried on the Reelz Channel in 2007 and Fox's MyNetworkTV in 2008. Click here to visit their website.
Movie trailers play an increasingly important role in entertaining us and helping us determine where to spend our leisure time. The best trailers are works of art in their own right, expertly blending elements of cinema and advertising.
Each year through an open competition judged by film industry notables, the Golden Trailer Awards recognize the creative people who make movie trailers, and the best examples of their unique art, in a gala award show.
The next Golden Trailer Awards Show will take place Thursday, June 4th, 2009 at the Directors Guild Theater Complex in Los Angeles.
The Golden Trailer Awards is the awards show devoted to feature film previews. Since moviegoers consistently rate movie trailers as the most entertaining part of the theater experience, the Golden Trailer Awards celebrates the craftsmanship and allure of these potent mini-epics with a fast-paced show whose frenetic and sometimes irreverent style is perfect for the post-MTV era.
Taking only 90 minutes to roll through 16 categories ranging from Best Drama to the Golden Fleece, the Golden Trailer Awards is as diverse and exciting as the art form to which it pays homage.
Here is a video that tells what the Golden Trailer Awards are all about.

I don't know when they posted season one of "The Big Valley" on Hulu.Com, but it is there for your enjoyment. Starring Barbara Stanwyck, Richard Long, Lee Majors, Linda Evans, and Peter Breck, ran for four seasons on ABC from 1965-69. If you look for it on DVD you can only find season one and half of season two. They released the first season as a full set and then got greedy and offered only half a season for the same price. I am guessing that is why no further episodes were ever released as sales for season two, volume one were probably disappointing.
The Big Valley is the Emmy-winning saga of the Barkleys, set in 1870s California. They're a close-knit family, wealthy and prestigious, but use their power to help the less fortunate homesteaders who struggle for a piece of the new land. The cast features Barbara Stanwyck as the matriarch, Linda Evans as her daughter, and Lee Majors as the stepson. THE BIG VALLEY is riveting drama and exciting action — 112 color hours of television at its finest.
At any rate, here is EARTHQUAKE, one of my favorite episodes and guest starring Charles Bronson. An earthquake traps Victoria in a cave with a violent drunk and a pregnant Indian. For a classic screen actress, Barbara Stanwyck was extremely gutsy in this role. During the one color season of Wagon Train, she appeared in two episodes as a lady who was even rougher and tougher than you see her here.
Much more than a slasher movie, the Final Destination films have always succeeded by having death come knocking by the grim reaper. And now death will be in your face in 3D.
On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave... escaping seconds before Nick's frightening vision becomes a terrible reality.
Thinking they've cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one--in increasingly gruesome ways--Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular Final Destination series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride.
