A Christmas Show A Day: Perfect Strangers

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos

Perfect Strangers was a comedy that aired from 1986-93. It starred Bronson Pinchot who had shot to fame as a result of the Beverly Hills Cop movies. Mark Linn-Baker was the other star of the show. This is one of their Christmas episodes and is appropriately called, "A Christmas Story". And, like a lot of other Christmas episodes, this one involves getting stuck in a blizzard. Still, it's a very funny episode. Watch it and enjoy!

Terminator: Salvation - Here Is The Official Trailer!

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos

They had a Japanese version of this floating around the internet yesterday and today. I could have posted that one but decided to wait until the official U.S. version came out, which is now. Take a look:

TrailerAddict.Com gives this description of the movie:
In the highly anticipated new installment of The Terminator film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

May 22, 2009 is the release date for the film.

Sandra Bullock Shines In "The Proposal"

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos

Not arriving in theaters until June 12, 2009, here is a trailer for a Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds movie that looks like Bullock at her best.

In this comedy from Anne Fletcher ("27 Dresses"), Sandra Bullock is a Canadian immigrant who is a demanding and difficult boss. Upon discovering she's about to be deported, she rushes into a marriage of convenience with her young assistant (Ryan Reynolds) to prevent the catastrophe. One of the better romantic comedy trailers that I've seen in a while.

A Christmas Show A Day: Father Knows Best

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos

This is a great Christmas episode for the whole family that will bring back warm memories for all of the baby boomers who remember Robert Young as the head of the Anderson family in "Father Knows Best". The story is one that has remained relevant throughout the years and that is the true meaning of Christmas.

In an attempt to remind his family of the real meaning of Christmas, Jim decides the Andersons will cut down their own Christmas tree this year. On their drive to the forest they get caught in a snowstorm and wind up in a drift. Watch the video to find out the rest of the story. The title of the episode is "I Told You So".

Today's Christmas Show comes through the courtesy of Fancast.Com where you can watch a huge collection of classic TV shows and movies as well as all of your latest TV favorites.

Forget 'Grey's Anatomy'. Watch 'Children's Hospital!

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos I only heard of this web show when I received an email from the WB.Com. Thought I would give it a shot, and all I can say is wow! Watch this episode and see for yourself, and then click here to see the rest. I guess when you're not on network TV you can do pretty much anything you want. As the email from the WB said:
Hilarious, outrageous, and only on The WB, the critically acclaimed Childrens' Hospital opens this week with all ten episodes. Created by and starring The Daily Show's Rob Corddry, Childrens' Hospital also features The Office's Ed Helms, Human Giant's Rob Huebel, Will & Grace's Megan Mullally, and more! We got an "A-" in Entertainment Weekly, folks. It's good. Start your ha-ha-holiday by Clicking here to get started.

Mystery Team Looks Like A Funny Film That Hopefully Will Be Picked Up At Sundance.

mt_still1_med Mystery Team will make it's debut at the Sundance Film Festival.  Hopefully it will be picked up by a studio for release as it looks very funny and has a clever ideal for a plot, described below from the official web site:

At age seven, Oakdale's Mystery Team was a band of kid detectives dedicated to solving child-sized mysteries (like who put their finger in the pie, and who stole the tricycle), and the town loved them for it. Now they're eighteen years old, about to graduate from high school, yet they're still storming the playground to bust little kids, and the town of Oakdale is sick to death of it.mt_still3_med

When a little girl sees their sign advertising "Mysteries Solved, Ten Cents," she asks the gang to find out who killed her parents. The Team embarks on a mystery that takes them deep into a violent conspiracy that sees their lives threatened, their friendship strained and tests their claim that they're "real detectives."

As of yet, it has no release date. Enjoy the trailer and the images.  The trailer comes from TrailerAddict.com.mt_still2_med

Renee Zellweger Is "New In Town". Watch The Trailer

Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr. star in this romantic comedy that highlights the quirkiness of a Minnesota winter.  It looks pretty funny and would be a good date night movie.  IMDB.Com gives the following description of the film:

A high-powered consultant in love with her upscale Miami lifestyle is sent to a middle of nowhere town in Minnesota to oversee the restructuring of a blue collar manufacturing plant. After enduring a frosty reception from the locals, icy roads and freezing weather, she warms up to the small town's charm, and eventually finds herself being accepted by the community. When she's ordered to close down the plant and put the entire community out of work, she's forced to reconsider her goals and priorities, and finds a way to save the town.

Watch the trailer and see if you like it.  It opens on January 30, 2009.

Fissure: What Did I Just Watch?

My first guess on this film is that it is going to end up being a "Sixth Sense" type film and we are going to find out that Detective Paul Grunning was the victim lying on the floor.  But seeing as how this trailer gives away very little in that regard, who knows?

TrailerAddict.Com, which provides the trailer, also gives this short description of the film:

Still reeling from a personal tragedy, Detective Paul Grunning is sent on a routine call to a local professor's home. When things turn deadly, he must navigate a fractured reality to solve the mystery before it's too late.

Watch this trailer and come to your own conclusions.  Fissure opens in theaters on May 15, 2009.

A Christmas Show A Day: Have Gun, Will Travel

have gun

Before he went on to fame for creating Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry wrote this episode of "Have Gun, Will Travel", starring Richard Boone as Palladin. This episode, "The Hanging Cross", has Palladin trying to prevent a rancher from seeking revenge on indians that kidnapped his son six years earlier.  The beginning doesn't really seem like all that much like a Christmas episode, other than Palladin arriving at the ranch on Christmas Eve, but halfway through the message of Christmas becomes part of the story.  A very good episode.  Hope you enjoy it.  This video comes through the courtesy of CBS and Fancast.com.
