Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos

First Aired on December 15, 1977, merriment, mistletoe and menorahs are the beginnings of a Merry Christmas celebration with the Sweathogs and Gabe and Julie Kotter.
Today's video once again comes through the courtesy of Hulu.com.

Elvis Christmas Duets

Elvis' most cherished holiday classics reinterpreted by today's biggest female stars with Elvis Presley! The album features 'Blue Christmas' with Martina McBride, 'I'll Be Home for Christmas' with Carrie Underwood, 'Here Comes Santa Claus' with LeAnn Rimes, 'Santa Clause Is Back In Town' with Wynonna Judd 'Silent Night' with Sara Evans, 'White Christmas' with Amy Grant plus Gretchen Wilson, Karen Fairchild & Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town, Anne Murray, Olivia Newton-John and three Bonus Tracks.

As a little bonus on this post watch the video of Elvis and Martina Mcbride in concert together. It's pretty cool. If you're interested in getting this album, like I am, there are a couple of Amazon.com links at the bottom to click on to go directly to the correct page. No searching needed! The second link is for an mp3 download.

knowing Academy Award® Winner Nicolas Cage (National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Leaving Las Vegas) stars in KNOWING, an action-thriller about a professor who stumbles on terrifying predictions about the future and sets out to prevent them from coming true.
In 1958, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. But one mysterious girl fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead.
Fifty years later, a new generation of students examines the capsules contents and the girls cryptic message ends up in the hands of young CALEB MYLES. But it is Calebs father, professor TED MYLES (Nicolas Cage), who makes the startling discovery that the encoded message predicts with pinpoint accuracy the dates, death tolls and coordinates of every major disaster of the past 50 years. As Ted further unravels the documents chilling secrets, he realizes the document foretells three additional events the last of which hints at destruction on a global scale and seems to somehow involve Ted and his son. When Teds attempts to alert the authorities fall on deaf ears, he takes it upon himself to try to prevent more destruction from taking place.
With the reluctant help of DIANA WHELAN and ABBY, the daughter and granddaughter of the now-deceased author of the prophecies, Teds increasingly desperate efforts take him on a heart-pounding race against time until he finds himself facing the ultimate disaster and the ultimate sacrifice.

The trailer looks pretty interesting.  Watch it and decide for yourself.  Knowing is scheduled for release on March 20, 2009.

Friday The 13th (2009) Here's The Feature Trailer.

I have been thinking that there was no way they could do a remake of Friday The 13th that could get me into a theater to watch it. With this trailer it seems that they have proven me wrong. This is definitely one of the better horror trailers to come around in a while and now I will probably be making the trek into the local cinema to see it.

Trailer provided by Trailer Addict.com. The film opens on February 13, 2009.

A Christmas Show A Day: Reba

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos

First shown on December 13, 2002, the title of this episode is "Cookies For Santa".

This Christmas episode of Reba finds her all alone on Christmas Eve when all of the family members decide to go elsewhere. Reba spends part of the day serving food for the homeless when she meets a man who not only doesn't like her cookies, but also her turkey gravy. The man claims to be Santa Claus but Reba doesn't believe him. He talks her into going home even though she will be alone.

As it turns out, she isn't, as everyone returns home for different reasons. I really enjoyed this episode of Reba as it touches on what the true meaning of Christmas is really about--love and family. At the same time it is a truly funny episode that doesn't get bogged down by being overly sentimental. That was always one of the great traits of this show. Make sure you add this to your viewing schedule during this holiday season. You won't be disappointed.

Today's Christmas episode is provided by Hulu.com.

A Christmas Show A Day: Alf's Special Christmas

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos

Day two of our special Christmas posts is an extended episode of Alf titled Alf's Special Christmas. In this special, the Tanners check into a remote cabin in the woods. ALF accidentally gives Willie some Poison Ivy mistaking it for Holly. As a result Willie gets an allergic reaction and ALF runs away to the local hospital, where he is mistaken for a toy and given to a girl called Tiffany. The story continues as ALF does some good deeds, helping Tiffany to have a good Christmas, delivering a baby in an elevator, and helping the owner of the cabin, Mr Foley, to realise that he shouldn’t commit suicide. It is quite a heavy, heart felt story for a comedy, but it still remains quite funny. Hope you enjoy it.

A Christmas Show A Day: Gilligan's Island Christmas

I thought between now and December 25th I would post a Christmas show a day from either Hulu.Com or Fancast.Com.  This episode of Gilligan's Island, entitled "Birds Gotta Fly, Fish Gotta Talk",  was telecast on December 19, 1964 and comes from Fancast.Com.  In this episode Gilligan (Bob Denver) believes the castaways will be rescued by Christmas.  Check back tomorrow for another Christmas favorite.

Mary Tyler Moore: An In Depth Interview From 1966

Appearing on The David Susskind Show, this is an in depth interview with Mary Tyler Moore on the cusp of stardom.  Hulu.Com currently has nine episodes of the Susskind show, including Harry Truman, Mel Brooks, Jerry Lewis, and more.

I barely remember the show even though it was on for many years.  It turns out, I didn't know what I was missing as they are very interesting interviews. Watch this one and see how you like it.

"Puffball" Seems Like A Strange Name For A Horror Flick

At any rate, this movie has Donald Sutherland and Miranda Richardson in it so it can't be all bad.  The plot of the movie, according to TrailerAddict.Com, goes like this:

Powerful supernatural forces are unleashed when a young architect (Kelly Reilly) becomes pregnant after moving to an isolated and mysterious valley to build a house. And when the neighboring farmers take against the unborn child, it's her very survival that is threatened.
