It seems issuing a blanket denial of the charges laid forth in a NEW YORK TIMES article turned out to be a mistake for John McCain, the details of which are laid out in this Keith Olberman story on MSNBC.

Clinton Campaign Prepares To 'Swift Boat' Obama In Ohio
Always known for their dragonslayer attitude in politics, the Clinton campaign now prepares to pull a Republican tactic, by 'swift boating' Barack Obama, according to ABC news and an email from the Obama headquarters. I guess it's do or die time for Mrs. Clinton. Seems to me that every time they have gone negative in this campaign though, they tend to lose voters rather than gain any. Below is the Obama email that was sent out.
News broke yesterday that a few wealthy Clinton supporters are gearing up for a massive spending campaign to boost her chances in the big upcoming contests in Texas and Ohio on March 4th.
The so-called "American Leadership Project" will take unlimited contributions from individuals and is organized the same way as the infamous Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
ABC News reports that this group is seeking 100 Clinton supporters to each give $100,000 to fund its $10 million effort to promote Senator Clinton and "contrast" her positions with Barack Obama's.
That's the opposite of how politics should work, and the opposite of how Barack Obama has run this campaign.
The same day this group's activity was revealed, we announced that nearly 1 million individual people have donated to this campaign.

Groups like this are forbidden from working primarily for the purpose of electing or defeating a candidate.
Yet here we have a committee that springs up on the eve of an election, promotes a specific candidate, and has no history or apparent purpose of lobbying specific issues outside the benefit to the candidate of these communications.
This raises a number of legal and ethical issues, but more than anything it reveals an attitude towards politics as a game that is played to win at all costs.
Americans are ready for change. We are tired of Swift Boat-style groups and smear campaigns.
Be one of a million voices calling for a new kind of politics and a new kind of leadership.

The leader of this group is a man by the name of Jason Kinney. A blog by the name of The California Majority Report gives the following biography on Kinney:
Jason Kinney, a veteran political/communications strategist and co-Publisher of the California Majority Report, is a Partner in California Strategies and Communications LLC, a sister company of California Strategies LLC, one of the state's premier public affairs consulting firms.
Before surrendering to the foolish temptation of sane working hours and a livable wage, Kinney was a state government employee, serving as Chief Speechwriter and Senior Communications Advisor to Governor Gray Davis for more than four years and, prior to that, as Communications Director for now-Senate President Don Perata (D-Oakland) and as Chief-of-Staff to now-Senator Elaine Alquist (D-Silicon Valley).
He has also worked as a consultant to numerous statewide, legislative and local candidate and ballot measure campaigns. (A few of them have even won.)
A native of Bloomington, Indiana, Kinney launched his glamorous, Mountain Dew-fueled career of political "hacktivism" at the age of 13, when he helped run his mother's successful campaign for State Senate. His mother is still serving in the Indiana State Senate today and Kinney has not managed to get a life since.
Kinney is married to the beautiful-on-the-outside, Republican-on-the-inside Mary Gonsalves Kinney, is father to a newborn daughter/iron-fisted autocrat named Stella Josephine, and has long harbored a "man crush" on former U.S. Senator Birch Bayh.

Election Fraud Will Bring Victory
We are expected to lose the 2008 presidential election, but with coordinated election fraud, we will surge to victory.
That was the description of this video on the YouTube page where this is posted. I learned about this video in an article at OpEdNews.com and thought it was interesting enough to post here. Obama Wins Nine In A Row.
Demographically, this was supposed to be a Hillary kind of state. But obviously, we now know that no such thing really exists. In this video, the Governor of Wisconsin explains why he thinks Obama won in his state.
For Whom The Bell Tolls? It Tolls For HD-DVD
Toshiba announced today that it was immediately discontinuing production of their HD-DVD players, ending the High Def wars with Blue Ray. Like Betamax, owners of the HD-DVD players are going to be stuck with a useless product.

Get With Obama In '72
This is a spoof of Obama during his Occidental College days. What's funny, judging by the comments at SuperDeluxe.com, where this was posted, is that some people actually think this is real. I'm surprised the Clintons haven't tried to promote it as such.
Plan Of Attack Against Obama By Republicans

RNC contributors got an earful this weekend about methods the GOP will use to battle the Democrats for control of the White House this fall, as well as other initiatives central to the conservative cause.
The RNC’s “winter retreat” for major donors at Los Angeles’ Beverly Wilshire Hotel featured such party stalwarts as Karl Rove, RNC chairman Robert Duncan, former Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams, as well as some Hollywood types, including Dave Berg, a segment producer and “political director” for "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno.
RNC Chairman Duncan as well as Co-Chairman Jo Ann Davidson opened the Sunday session with a Power Point presentation outlining five main strategic attacks against the Obama candidacy. The first called for pointing out what the GOP views as a seeming incongruity between Obama and the mantle of commander in chief. The second point harkened back to Obama’s days in the Illinois state Senate, noting how his “pattern of voting ‘present’ offers many openings to question his candidacy.” The third offered hope to the GOP faithful that “we can be confident in a campaign about issues.” A fourth bullet point relayed how “undisciplined messaging carries great risk,” while the fifth and final attack point stressed, “His greatest weakness is inexperience. He is not ready to be president. He is not ready to be commander in chief.”
It would seem that all of their plans were taken straight from the Hillary Clinton playbook. How original.

Obama Copies? Plaigarizes? Steals? From Deval Patrick's Speech.
Then Gubernatorial candidate Deval Patrick's "Just Words" speech from October 2006.
Obama on 2/16/08 talking about why words matter to the Wisconsin Democratic Party.
The Obama campaign has issued a statement from Gov. Patrick: “Sen. Obama and I are long-time friends and allies. We often share ideas about politics, policy and language. The argument in question, on the value of words in the public square, is one about which he and I have spoken frequently before. Given the recent attacks from Sen. Clinton, I applaud him responding in just the way he did.”
My personal opinion on this matter, no matter how much I like Obama as a candidate, is that when citing other's words, he should give credit to them when he is quoting them.
An interesting article about this was posted at the Boston Globe website. The story was published way back in April 2007. You can read it by clicking here.
